There is no EVAP purge switch on 93-95. That was added for OBD-II in 96/97.

Re: Evap and ses light question 95 Z28

Ok here is the run down on the car. The engine in this car is out of a 97 6-sp TA. I had a shop put it in and they didnt change out the front cover so it still has the crank trigger plug but nothing is plugged into it. I have removed the AIR but according to searching on here i replaced the fuse and tested the air relay and its ok so i shouldnt be getting a code for that right?

Also A.C has been removed to.

I feel at this point, best to get the codes scanned from it. That way it's not guess work as to what is going on.

I know the Cali cars got the dual cats early, did they also get the full OBDII treatment early? That's assuming that his car sold new in Cali.

..Damn.., did your car have one or two cats stock?

The car has a dual cat setup. But i am positive it is obd1 but it does incorporate the 16 pin obd2 connecter.

15 years later, and hard to believe this question is stil being asked. NO..... all 95 LT1's are OBD-I. All they did was go to dual cats on the A4 CA emissions cars. The did not change the PCM. All 95's have the 16-pin connector.

Re: Evap and ses light question 95 Z28

I tried getting my friends obd1/2 scanner to work with zero luck! We hooked up the 12pin aldl to the scanner then used this picture as a reference for which pins to use.

Nothing scanner didnt even turn on! We tested the power and ground pins on the cars 16pin aldl and both passed. Sooooooo i dont know what to do next? I have a cable coming in the mail that connects the obd1 16pin aldl to my laptops usb com. So i am hoping to use freescan and see what codes the car is throwing.

Wish me luck..lol

Re: Evap and ses light question 95 Z28

Update got my cable and ran freescan and the car is throwing two codes...The first one is code 26 CCP ELECTRICAL FAULT (ODM)

second code is code 43 ESC FAILURE.

Now this is a 97 engine in a 95 camaro do you think he forgot to put the right knock sensor in?

Help guys.

Re: Evap and ses light question 95 Z28

The 26 is the solenoid (still). The 43 is indeed the KS and because of it, the PCM is pulling the timing. Thus the lack of performance. Could be the wrong one. Best to measure it's resistance to find out.
