EVAP question HELP

My evap system started throwing codes so I decided to tune it out when I got a computer tune instead of replacing the canister. I was wondering if it would effect performance to tune the system out without physically removing it. I'm not worried about appearance under the hood I just want to make sure that leaving it there is not hurting my car. Any help would be appreciated.

alright i know alot of people put a filter on the vent line so that they can remove it. I'm not worried about a few lines in the engine compartment as long as they arent hurting anything.

thanks

the only thing you might notice is that you will smell gas fumes a little more

I doubt you will notice any performance difference. You will be throwing away fuel vapor that the engine could burn, but I doubt you'll notice the difference in MPG either. Cap the vacuum nipple on the side of the throttle body, and there's no way a leaky hose or a solenoid stuck open would allow air to enter the system.
