EVAP canister?
EVAP canister?
on my evap canister there's three outlets for tank, air, and purge. I take it the tank one goes directly to the tank. what about the others and the control valve that's back there also? i have the feeling whoever had the car before me screwed up on putting those on.
Yeah that sounds about right. I forget the order they go in off hand, it has been about 3 months since i fixed the connections, becuase i got tired of smelling gas. One collects fumes from the tank, one is for out side air, and the last one runs to the purge silonoid under the hood. If the canister holds proper pressure the fumes will enventually get reburned in the enigne.
I hooked up the hoses the right way with tank, air in the middle and purge on the other end and my car runs worse. the person who had the car before me had the purge hose going to the tank outlet on the canister. I smell the crap behind my car and around the gas cap. other than trying to find the cause of P0300 code i have this problem now. this car needs to be driven off a cliff.
i just took it for a drive and i do smell the fumes or vapors coming either from the canister or somewhere. she's hooked up right, it's pretty simple cause the outlets on the canister are labeled for each hose.
