K&N FIPK air filter fell off most likely when i bled my brakes about 2 or 3 weeks ago. didn't realize it till today.

i cleaned the MAF and the air temperature sensor, what else may be a side affect of running w/o an air filter for a somewhat extended period of time?

the MAF screen is still in BTW

My black 93 was run without a filter on the K&N setup for almost a year. The shop that worked on it didn't put the filter back on. Never had a problem, although I don't recommend it.

Ever heard.... Eagles may soar but weasels dont get sucked into Jet engines?? It doenst apply to K&N Cold Air intakes....

j/k dude. You see you get dust particles going into your cylynder walls... scratching here and there and if bad enough eventually allowing oil past the rings..... most dust will burn up but the largest particles are bound to do some scratchin...

Just put the filter back on and find a way to secure it more properly....

The only effects will be long term. If you did not drive in particularly dusty conditions, you probably don't have much to worry about. You can't do anything about it now, so no sense in fretting.

no filter means excessive cylinder wear in the long run after a couple thousand miles even sooner in dusty areas or city driving
