Question Engine Swap

I've got a question for you guys. My bossman is looking into buying an LT-1 Camaro, and he has an engine he would like to swap into it. A blown 350 with a weiand 8-71 supercharger on it. What all would be required for this? He has a 67 Camaro that it was going to go in, but he wants all the amenities of a newer car. I thought an LT-1 would be a better choice for a swap than an LS-1 because all the brackets would bolt up to a regular 350 and the springs would be a little stiffer since the LT-1 has an iron block right? Since this is a reverse coolant flow engine, would the accessories have to be driven that way too? Any help would be appreciated guys since this project is gonna require a good bit of work.

Probably wont fit with that blower sitting on top. The back half of the motor is under the windshield in these cars.

Well first of all LT1 and olt style SBC engine mounts arent the same so LS1 or LT1 doesnt matter still wont bolt up without BMRs SBC/BBC kmember for 4th gens.

Second its hard enough to fit a carbed SBC in a 4th gen, requires cutting the hell out of the cowl meaning no windshield wipers, basically a strip car only. Just put a ATI D1SC blower on the LT1 and push 15lbs of boost through it until the motor blows, then build a forged 355 with an aftermarket DFI and spin it to 8000 and make 800rwhp

This car will be only a nice weather car and he wants it to cruise in and something that would be different. He doen't mind cutting the cowl panel as long as it works. The engine he has is already assembled and ready to go. You mentioned a K-member, where would he purchase this at?

www.bmrfabrication.com go under products, 4th gen, then chassis, runs $439

good luck with this one, dont forget about all the fuel system though, hope hes got $$.

Hell need a sump welded into the tank, an inline pump for carb pushing ~10psi or less, all new fuel line. Good thing is LT1 headers will bolt up to an SBC and fit so he wont have to make custom headers. Quite a few people do it so it should work. Good luck with this one, ive never seen a blown carbed SBC in a 4th gen

he's gonna have to cut the windshield to get a 350 w/8-71 in that car. simply isnt room for that combo in a 4th gen without MAJOR surgery.

Might want to look into a 3rd gen as the engine isnt 1/2 under the window.
