engine swap
I have a 93 A4 trans am and I bought just bought a shortblock, I want to build a mild horsepower engine, and put it in my car and then while the other block is out build the 383 I have been wanting. I was just wondering if there is anything major I need different since its a 96 LT1. Can I use a 93 opti if I use a 93 front timing cover.

yes,
i believe there was only one casting # for LT1 blocks
