Engine stops after 7-8 seconds (short post pls help)
Engine stops after 7-8 seconds (short post pls help)
New engine came with programmed OBD2, but its nor running more than 7-8 seconds. Code is P1626 D => Theft deterrent system fuel enable circuit.
The interesting thing is when I replace the stock PCM, it runs like a crap, but do not stop and there is no code.
any idea?

In my friend's 95 Z28 the VATS relay burned out and the car wouldn't start at all... not exactly the same problem as what you're describing but it's obviously related. Maybe you could start there.

OMG I can't send it back. I converted to OBD1 can I remove it by mailorder tune ??
And it can be fix with just a programming or should also do bypass ??

Ignition turns with key, which attempts a start, but the PCM is looking for a different pellet value than what you have, so shuts off on theft deterent... my stab at it anyway. If it's the theft deterent shutting you down, as the code suggests, programming it out could fix it.

Thanks I got it now.
I did a big search. Some people say just programming is not enough, should also bypassing. Or only bypassing is not enough, should also programming. I'm confused.
Probabily I will have to do 2 things together right?
