From what I hear (don't know from personal use) underdrive pulley's will give you hell through your electrical system. Something with the alternator not spinning fast enough. May be true, might not....just fyi.

Re: 1994 Z28

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind on the pulleys. This car is pretty much stock with 53k actual miles. I'm the 2nd owner. I figure it's time for a tune up and some other stuff.

Just get ngk tr55 plugs!! Iridium plugs are a waste of money. Dont buy hooker lt's, go with pace setter lt's. There is no slip fit on the #1 primary, and most importantly they are cheaper. If you want the MAX benifit out of your exhaust, go with true duals ( X pipe into bullet mufflers and dump it before the rear axle) Instead of a catback. Skip the pullys. You need to do a full exhaust and spend your other money on a good tune up. ie, plugs wires, o2 sims in the rear, new front o2's, pcv, Air filter, fule filter, and a pcm tune from pcmforless.com

Re: 1994 Z28

Id stick with the Hooker LTs. The 2 sets of pacesetters Ive installed were trash. And both sets have more rust issues in 1 year than my hookers that have been on my car for 3 years and lived through 2 winters. The slip fit isnt an issue. Ive installed 5-6 sets of Hookers and none of them leak at the slip fit. AND they dont hit the K-member, or floors. Also Id stay away from the underdrive pulleys too. Ive considered installing one on my car, but a few guys I know have charging issues after installing theres. Like said befor just go with the NGK TR55 plugs. They work great. If I were you Id look into the Hooker cat back. It sounds really good (I have many sound clips if your interested) and its not overly loud at cruise RPM like Flowmaster or SLP. Ive installed quite a few electric water pumps and for the money the Summit water pump is great. It is actually a Mezire standard duty pump with a different front cover. Ive compaired them side by side and measured everything. The main body of the pump is even the same color purple. Also you could look into some 1.6 roller rockers. They will give you a nice HP boost. Everything else in your list looks good.

All of those are with the hooker exhaust but the 2 vids on the left. The top left is my car when it was stock with a flowmaster and the bottom left is my friends B4C.

That is one at the track. Hope those help you with your decision.

Re: 1994 Z28

Thanks for the clips. I'm going with the Hooker LTs with Mufflex Y pipe, no cat, and Magnaflow Cat back exhaust. I may skip the pulleys now too. Still don't know about the plugs or wires. Also, what would be a good clutch and should I replace the opti? I plan on putting on a MSD cap. Thanks

Re: 1994 Z28

Do you have any indications the Opti has problems? If not, leave it alone, no need to change the cap. Definitely check the plugs. The stock AC/Delco plugs have been known to lose the platinum pucks, leaving huge gaps. Stock wires are probably a bit tired by now. I'd also recommend avoiding the U/D pullies. And you need to listen to the guy who recommended the cold air intake, if the car doesn't have one already.

Re: 1994 Z28

It began missing after running it hard on the interstate. After a while it went away again. Since it is all stick, i figure to replace all the common stuff, plugs, wires cap, and water pump. Car only has 53k actual miles. It does have a CAI also.
