engine squeal non belt related
I have a 94 z28 lt1 , It has a loud engine squeal that increases and decreases with engine rpm.
I removed belt, still has squeal. Replaced water pump as it isn't driven by belt didnt help. car did quit before problem first started. seams to run smooth. Thanks for any help.

Re: engine squeal non belt related
Look around the starter/flywheel to see if the teeth on the flywheel are rubbing on something like the metal shield. Also, the solenoid can stick in the engaged position causing the starter to stay running. That could do it too.
