engine shuts off when it reaches 180*?

Car starts great and everything when it's under 180* but it wont start when its above 180*. When I'm driving along and hit 180* it just shuts off and wont start until it's back under 180*. Is this like a thermostat related thing or a computer thing or what?

LOL! I doubt the dealer does anything for free.

Since you have a 1993 you can do it yourself for nothing .

Threw a code 16 which I researched to be opti related and a code 28 which is tranny related. Is my opti toast? I think I know why I threw a 28...when I shift into 4th at wot it is very hard to get into. I have to let off the gas to get into 4th at wot. What's wrong with my tranny?
