Engine Runs Rough when Cold

Engine Runs Rough when Cold
Basically my 95' 3.4L runs real rough until the engine warms up a bit and the temp gage begins to move. Now i'm not talking real frigid temperatures here. Last night had a low in the mid 40's. I don't think it is oil. 10W-30 changed last month and has less than 500 miles on it. I live right off a highway i have to take to work. Unless i let her sit for 5-10min before i go it is getting a little dangerous on that entrance ramp with no power because the engine is still not warm. Any trouble shooting ideas?

Re: Engine Runs Rough when Cold
what is O2s? Something to do with the catalytic converter? I'm a newbie (if you couldn't already tell)
No lights.
I'll be checking the Codes tonight and give an update.
Sorry about the post in the wrong place. If a mod wants to move it that would be fine.

Re: Engine Runs Rough when Cold
O2= OXYGEN SENSOR. The primary sensor is located before the cat and measues the amount of oxygen that is left over after the burn. If too little oxygen the PCM tries to regulate the AF as close to 14.7 to 1 as possible for most effiecient combustion. (the PCM doesn't use the sensor information in open loop so since when you firsts start the engine I believe it is in open loop and the o2 may not be your problem at start up. The PCM will use the info in closed loop which is normal driving and won;t use the information at WOT.
I will say that o2 after a time and can affect your mileage, cause hesitation or surging and compromise the life of your cat.
If you are having problems when it is cold, you might want to clean your thottle body and make sure it is operating correctly for startups. JMHO
