Re: engine out top

As long as you correctly followed the instructions for the LT1 engine and not LT4, you should not have to touch them again.

Yes I did, but just say something is not adjusted right, it will still run?

Can I go back and loosen them now and do them all over again for piece of mind?

yes you could do it over. I still think the best way to not make a mistake is one at a time way. Basically you just watching for when the pushrod of the oposite valve that your adjusting hits the proper spot( one just begins to move the other you watch until it goes back down) shoebox has those direction as does comp cams. Just be sure to turn motor correct direction and dont confuse the intake and exhaust side and you should be golden. I would bet there are some youtube videos too. Some marks can be helpful for seperating ones you have done and or exhaust rather than intake even on the nut at zero lash so you can get you preload consistant(more so in car as on mine I have trouble getting a half turn on a few.

Well, you have to do it right for it to run right. It depends on how bad you erred as to if it will run or not.

You can do them as many times as you like.

Re: engine out top

Setting valve lash is not something you want to get into the habit of doing more than once. Just ensure you do it right the first time.

Got a question. I'm about to try and put new motor and newly built Trans in. I was told to run the engine before bolting the converter on in case if an issue with the engine. Is this something that should be done?
