Engine out the bottom pics...
Just used FastZinTN's short writeup and it was right on the money
Thanks man.
Here's some pics from today's adventure. We started mid afternoon and were done in the evening, no biggie really. Couldn't get it on the stand yet b/c I didn't have bolts to put it on with! doh! Tomorrow I'll pick some up.
The whole thing was really pretty easy, no need to use wood blocks or anything to get the car high enough, 6 ton jack stands are *plenty* tall enough to secure the car to get the engine out.
Uh, since we're on there, left to right:

Re: Engine out the bottom pics...
you will love being able to fully assemble the engine that way, I did a few out/in the bottom, and I don't even take the wheels off, I just put blocks of wood between the LCA and the K-member, then lift the car, put a jack under the back of the trans, and roll it out
Re: Engine out the bottom pics...
Yah I might roll it back in with the wheels this time, just need to get it a little higher to do that, but it would probably be easier than worrying about the assembly rolling off the jack

Re: Engine out the bottom pics...
things went pretty smoothly. for as much as we messed around, we made good time for first time effort. should be pretty quick if we'd ever needed to do it again. next time i think the wheels need to stay on imo. feel pretty accomplished with the progress we made.
Re: Engine out the bottom pics...
Boy I am glad I just put a lift in at my shop. lift the car up, un-bolt everything and the tranny and motor come out together. I would do it just for a head and cam install
that easy
that easy

I used a 3300lb tow strap (rated to 10000 lbs break strenght) and wrapped it around the front frame of the car (it's the boxed frame in front of the radiator).
