engine modifications

I have a 94 Z28 LT1 enigne. I'm about to pull the engine because of a slight rod knock that is starting to get worse. I'm purchasing the LT4 conversion kit (LT4 cylinder heads, LT4 intake, and a Hot Cam). I was hoping to get some ideas for some modifications on my block for more horsepower to add to the conversion kit

thanks!

why the lt4 conversion kit?

you can make LOTS more hp/tq with a better cam and having your heads professionally ported/polished.

get a set of headers also while you are there, change over to an electric water pump, and run a double roller timing set.

you could always do a 383 stroker

383 stroker

okay, so i have my cylinder heads ported and polished, but what about the intake manifold, any modifications there? and what cam should i go with?

can i modify my LT1 engine block to a 383 stroker? what would that consist of? boring out the cylinders and replacing the pistons?anything else?

You have to do some other machine work to the block to clear the rods. For a little more money than the the LT4 kit, you could get headders, P&P your heads, get a cam, pushrods, lifters and some 1.6 RR's. You could be putting around 400 to the ground. Do a stroker if you have about 5k to spend.
