Engine harness
Engine harness
I am looking for an engine harness and I was wondering how difficult is to change this... Is the engine harness plugable or do I have to splice it in with the rest of the car???
any help is gladly appreciate it...
The thing is that it got burnt from a fire and I have a few wires worn down... and i think its better to replace than to fix, to prevent future problems
LMK
Thanks

The engine harness disconnects from the engine pretty easily. If I remember correctly, besides all the connections the only thing you need to do to remove it is remove a couple of connections inside the car under the pass side dash (the engine harness goes in there under the computer) and there is one or two connections to underhood (non engine) harness. It shouldn't take more than an hour or two to disconnect everything. The hardest part would be some of the ground connections.
No, the lights are not part of the engine harness. The engine harness is independent of all the other harnesses, but does however have plugs to connect with them. One of the plugs is on the passenger side strut tower area and the other plugs are inside the car going through the firewall behind the PCM area.
I can change a harness in about an hour tops now.
