when i am slowly putting on the gas around 2000 RPM the engine hesitates and cuts out a few times like theres a miss or something. it jerks back and forth but it only does it about two or three times a day and it does it at idle when i first start it to warm it up in the morning.

could it be the spark plugs? do i just need a tune up?

or is it something else like the opti or something?

disconnect the EGR vac line and plug it and try it for a few days. If that's not it, try checking and cleaning the IAC. Check the vac line to the fuel pressure regulator to see if it's wet. If it is, you need to replace the fuel regulator.

Doubt it's ignition but if the above things don't cure the problem, consider replacing plugs wires or opti if they have over 60k on them.

Never hurts to check fuel pressure and don't forget the fuel filter too.

is it possible to take it to autozone or something to check it for codes?

and my car only has 50k miles on it, i am confused if its the opti going out...?
