Engine coolent light is on....but everything is full?

Engine coolent light is on....but everything is full?

Correct me if i'm wrong but isn't the coolent light the one with the water level and an arrow pointing down at it? well thats the one that is on and i checked my levels and they are all normal. i checked the radiator when it was cool and the level was right at top, same with the coolent tube to the left. please help me thanks

You may try a search on coolant. I see this talked about quite a bit. Seems the sensor for the coolant level is prone to failure. As i recall a new one in in the $35-$60 range. I think, notice i said think, you can unplug the sensor and that should make the light go out if you are 100% sure you are full on coolant.

yeah i'm positive that i'm full because thats a new motor in there and i'm keepin an eye on every fluid level in there. and i check em all before i take the car out for a cruise. thanks for your help!

I wouldn't just simply unplug it without using a pressure tester first.
I was having the same problem, hooked up a pressure tester and had coolant
shooting from every possible location. Problem was that I didn't tighten all
my clamps enough. Go to Autozone and rent one. ( $75, you get all your money back when you return it.)

As long as your temp is staying good who cares how much coolant you have.

Mine did the same thing so i just unplugged it and keep an eye on the temp gauge.

yeah my temp gauge is perfect and every time i turn off the motor i can hear my cooling fans winding down. thanks for all your help!

Mine started doing the same thing while I was on Power Tour this year. Temp is fine and fluid is full so I will be changing the sensor soon.
