Question engine coolant light goes on and off!

my engine coolant light goes on and other times it's off. it may be the censor because the coolant level is ok. but i want to know if i should changed the coolant because i don't know if it ever has been changed. is it a good idea to change it or just a waste of time and $$$.

Its most likely a bad sensor, Its a common problem, they read low when in actuality the level is fine. If you dont want to waste the cash, dont worry about it as long as it is actually full. As for the coolant flush, probably not a bad idea to do.

First off, see that SEARCH button.

Second , if you ever do run low on coolant the temp guage may or may NOT read the HIGH temp and then the engine goes BOOM, the part is like $25 at dealer, takes about 15mins to replace, you do the math.

PS is it a 1995? They all seemed to fail within the last year.

Check you low coolant sensor on the radiator. You could very well be low on fluid if the light comes on and off while it's runnin. And by the time it cools enough to check the level it's back up above the right level. The level sensor on the radiator is famous for going on though. Check that first.
