Anyone know what this code actually means? I searched through obd2 codes and it says PCM memory, or Internal Control Module Memory Checksum Error.

The car is popping out the exhaust on decereration and everytime i shift and let my foot off the gas.

I replaced the opti in the spring, which resulted in the popping in the exhaust and a high rpm miss. Symptoms before i replaced the opti were stalling and opti codes being thrown by the pcm.

I just recently replaced the plugwires in hopes of curing the popping and miss, which it didn't.

The car stalled and set this code when i took it for a test drive after installing the new wires.

Could it be a bad opti? Seems logical with all the symptoms, but why did i get this p0601 code?

Car has intake and full exhaust, along with a madz28 tune. So there are no internal engine mods that might lead to these symptoms.

 

Usually that means a bad PCM. Check with Madwolf about it.

 

Anyone else had a similar issue?
