Engine balancing question.

I know the lt1 is internally balanced in the front and externally balanced in the rear. Now my question is can a lt1 be balanced internally in the rear? Would it be ok to run a front and rear internally balanced lt1 if the fly wheel is 0 balanced?

Re: Engine balancing question.

Yeah, that's the way my 383 is set up. The crank is internally balanced, front and rear, and I'm running a neutral balanced flywheel.

Re: Engine balancing question.

That terminology about front/rear is confusing. It's more useful to say that the LT1 is externally balanced. Of course, it could be internally balanced and in that case would need a neutral balance flywheel/flexplate.
