95 z28 auto, replaced opti spark,plugs,wires 1 month ago,,, will be driving and the eng will stumble some and just shut off.sometimes it will do it 10 mins after i started it for the first time in the day.it will crank till you kill the battery and wont start,,,let it sit for a hour and it will start right up...might run ok for a day or so and then it will do it again..no matter what speed i am atalso noticed that latley i keep have to reset my remote door lock remote , both of them..seems kinda odd..was wondering if the whole problem with both things ar in the brain ??...need some help..no one here has a clue whats wrong with it..THANKS BOB. Try the coil! My brother's 9C1 Caprice was doing that same thing. We replaced the coil and it went away. Just a thought. Don't know whats up with your keyless entry....Good Luck

 

IMO it's your fuel pump.

Easiest way to do this is to have a fuel pressure gauge handy. The next time your car does not start slap the pressure gauge on the shrader valve. Turn the key to "on" and see if you have any fuel pressure, should be in the low 40's. If you don't have any pressure you're either not getting any power to the pump (possibly bad relay) or your pump is dying on you, I think it's the latter, because what your describing is exactly what my car went through.

You can usually rent a FP gauge for free at a local parts store.

 

well dont think its a fuel problem..because once it dies out and i try to start it right after...all i can smell is fuel

 

ICM or coil

 

Doesn't hurt to rule it out. It should be relatively free to check before you start throwing parts at it. Like I said, mine had the exact same symptoms.

Eliminating the fuel aspect is quicker than chasing after an electrical ghost.
