Take a big alignment punch and put it in the hole.Knock it with a hammer. It should line up the holes. You may need to tap on the bolt to get it thru.

Loosen up the motor mount bolts to the engine block to give you more adjustability to get the bolt through.

I had the same problem with my ES poly mounts. Seems that when they made them, some of the poly material got in the bolt holes and made it barely too small. As said before, just whack the hell out of it and hopefully it will go through. If worst comes to worse, just take the motor mount back off and clean out the bolt hole with a long file or the like.

I tried taping on the bolt with a hammer, and I even tried a big alignment punch. So if I loosen the other 3 bolts it should give some play so I can put the long bolt through?

I know this sounds silly but also make sure that you have the mounts on the right side. the mounts are different and wont work right if you have them backwards

you might want to raise the motor alittle to see if it'll go in. I always use a jack with a 2x4 under the belt tensioner housing shouldn't take much. Another trick I always do is put grease on the bolts, they go in and come out much easier.

I know they're on the right side. I might try to grease the bolt, but I don't want to take the bolt out of the front because I might not get it back in. I'm going to try and loosen the three other bolts after work today and see if that works.

You have to jack the motor and get it at the right angle and it will slide right in like butter. I lay on my right side, head towards the tranny, and manipulate the jack with my legs while pushing the bolt in. Sounds complicated but it's cake.

For sure go with the grease method already mentioned. Take the bolt out completely and spray wd40 on the mount and all of the bolt. Had the same trouble here no matter which way i jacked the motor. Greased it and tapped it right in with hammer.

Where should I jack up the motor? I've been jacking it up under the oil pan with a 2x4.

Just wedge a 2x4 against something on the accessory bracket.

I set the 2x4 under the tensioner and since its on the pass. side it will raise that side of the motor.

This happend to you personally? I did it this way and i think mines fine. I hope at least, or i will be pissed. Haynes manual said to do it like that too though so id hope it was ok.

EDIT: when i did mine, it was a royal pain in the *** to get it to line up right. I said F it many times, and then finally i went back and did it. It has to be at the perfect height, and also i loosened the mount enclosure bolts, and also the top shell of the mount that bolts to the block. That gave me a little bit of play to get the bolt through. Then i would lower the engine slightly, and tighten up the bolts some and repeat... lower slightly and tighten up more (just to be safe that they were all the way tightened)
