Emmissions

So here is the problem I just moved to GA and I live in one of the counties where I have to get emissions done so here are the results of the first test

________25/25____________________50/15
________Reading__Allowed__Result___Reading__Allowe d__Result
HC PPM__105_____108______P_______124_____112_____F
CO%_____1.43____.6_______F_______1.36_____.62_____ F
NO ppm__921_____751______F_______1188_____829____F
RPM_____1873___1250-2500_P_______1502__1250-2500_P
Co+Co2%_14.1____6.0 Min__P________14.0____6.0 Min_ P

cat present and fuel cap Pass

So I thought it was all bad didn't really do any research. I had the cat replaced. I replace o2 sensors, plugs, and wires. then did a little bit of reading and figured out that EGR has a lot to do with NO so I went and got a vacuum gauge/pump to make sure it was working. I think it might have been stuck close but after applying some vacuum to it the you could see the diaphragm suck in. Placed the gauge on the vacuum line coming from the EGR solenoid. Gave the engine some revs and noticed the check engine light come on presumed it was throwing a code 38 shut her down and checked the gauge and it was showing manifold pressure. so it appears that the EGR system was working correctly. I go to give it another test today. The car is just below a 1/2 tank and it has almost a full bottle of SEAFOAM in it. I am hoping the SEAFOAM negatively affected my results. Here are my new results

_________25/25____________________50/15
_________Reading__Allowed__Result___Reading__Allow ed__Result
HC PPM___189_____108_____F________90______112_____P
CO%_____2.43_____.6______F________.10______.62____ _P
NO ppm___126_____751_____P________91______829_____P
RPM______1873__1250-2500_P________1504__1250-2500_P
Co+Co2%_15.6____6.0 Min__P_________15.0___6.0 Min___P

cat present and fuel cap Pass

I have only put about 40 miles on the car since I failed and that was about a month ago. The inspection tech suggested driving it out especially since it has seafoam in it. I don't know for sure what order they do the test in but I think it was pretty cold when he started the test. we had to sit there for about an hour before I got to get to test. Let me know what you guys think.

and I really need to pass it or park it cause my Oklahoma tag expired at the end of last month. Also I don't know if the different counties are different but I am in Henry county.

Thanks for all of your help.

Edited for the underscores because the board removed my extra spaces

I would ask them who they recommend that you take the car to for an analysis and possibly a fix. You might want to stop by an Auto Zone and have them do a scan in case something might be there that might give you a hint as to what the problem is. You would most likely get 10 different opinions from 10 different emissions techs. So advise that you go to a shop that specializes in getting cars pass the emissioins cops. JMHO

BTW. anytime you disconnect the PCM you need to drive around for few miles at varying speeds and gears in order for the PCM to provide good reads.

Thanks Bubba. but probably not going to take it to a shop. It's against my religion. I don't know why but it didn't even cross my mind that I hadn't let the computer learn might have been the expired tag. I will drive it around a little. the thing that blows my mind is the huge difference in hydrocarbons and CO and guessing by the NOx my EGR was actually sticking the first time I took it in. Any body else just think I should fill her up with good gas and let her relearn. I forgot that I had unhooked the battery while doing the O2's. If people want to read though data logs let me know and I can take some, but for this I wouldn't think to many people would want to read though them.

Thanks for all the help.
