Re: Emission problem...

You should be able to pass with ported heads and a hot cam'ish cam in cali. I've even heard of peeps passing cali emissions with a CC306 and a good emissions tune.

Re: Emission problem...

I got some "lightly" ported heads, hotcam and 1.6 RR's...with edlebrock headers, Borla and stock cat.

With a stock tune...I passed a couple years ago.

I am due up for another smog this year...before October. Right now, I dont know if I will pass. I'm gonna get a tune from madz28.com or pcmforless with new 02's.

I hope I pass...I'm starting to get worried about the smog ***** here

I wouldn't put all your nuts in that basket. I have never heard of a person that got a CC306 through the sniffer emissions test (please speak up persons that have). You will need a damn good tune with a CC305 to get through, and the 306 is quite a bit bigger. The other problem will be that it will be obvious to anyone with ears that there is an after market cam installed (I hear that is a no-no in Cali without paper work to prove carb exemption).

I would stick with something the size of a Hot cam or smaller. Loyds heads are awsome but he states that all three of his cam won't pass emissions. Might want to talk to Joe Overton and see if he can grind you up something special.

RE & ... I've been around here a while, and have read here where some have passed cali emissions with a CC306 & good tune. It's definatly not a guaranteed, but has been done before that all I'm saying. We have the IM-240 test here in So. IN and I passed with a few tweaks with numbers way better than I did with a stock motor with the mods in sig except for LTCC.
