True but this built in shift kit sounds interesting plus odds are their is a less chance of it messing up my transmission then a B&M would. However, I'm not sure yet. I will keep your B&M in mind.

The stock one does the same thing except you can't select the level... All it does it boosts the line pressure.

That why you have to buy a toggle switch. True, but will ask around first, I know someone that had one of those and not to long down the road the transmission flew apart.

Line pressure is not all it changes, just one of the things. In fact, IMO, it is not even the most noticeable thing. More noticeable is the shift points.

The Shiftplus is an "on/off" pressure booster, so pressure is high when you don't need it to be. The performance mode changes line pressure linearly based on TPS and is much easier on the tranny.

So I take it from what you have said the built in version will do less damage to the tranny and it will do about the same as the B&M performance wise right (just making sure)?

I would say that is accurate. In either case, your e.t. is not going to benefit, if that is what you are looking for.

It's a performance driving mod, not a drag racing mod.

You can get more than .001 by waxing your car.

LOL I know I just want to add a little fun while I'm driving. Plus I want it because when people ask when did I get a shift kit and I'm just going to say oh it's stock.

Do I really need to get both OEM parts for it to work?

No.

I also found the diagram that I was looking for that was no longer at the site it used to be. I think there was another thread that it was talked about, but here it is. I don't remember who originally authored it.

I have the button, my car came from the factory with it. It should be an easy mod to do, and cheap too.

I've even edited the PCM a bit to make a bigger difference between Normal and Performance modes.

Hmm... just had an idea too. You could swap the tables, and make the switch a "Caddy Mode". That way, you wouldn't have to hit the switch all the time (it doesn't stay on, goes off when the car is off, so you have to turn it back on everytime the car is started) to get in performance mode.

Thanks man, BTW would I need to use the LED, I was wondering if I could just use a switch with an LED built into a switch.

Depends on how the led is used with the switch. Most switches would power the led when it was turned on. With the performance shift, you want the lead from the pcm to tell the led to come on, not the switch. If you got a switch where it was possible to rewire the led like it needed to be, then it would work.
