Electrical Problem, please help!
Electrical Problem, please help!
I have had a problem for awhile that I am just finally almost getting traced down.. What I need is for somebody with an LT1, preferably a 97 but other years may work also, to do a little test for me. If your blinkers currently work, please take the "Actuators" fuse out of the fuse block in the engine bay, turn the key to "ON" and test if your blinkers work. Then replace the fuse. Please report back if the blinkers work or do not. Thank you VERY much for anybody who does this!!
Re: Electrical Problem, please help!
I saw you weren't getting an answer and thought I could help. I don't have a 97 at my disposal unless I make a call, but I do have the schematics. The actuator fuse (#2 15AMP) in the underhood fuse block has no connection to the turn, hazard or stop lights. Meaning, if you remove the actuator fuse and turn KOEO, the blinkers will (should) still work. Unless of course, you have some other problem????
FYI, the fuse you are asking about, only powers the EVAP purge solenoid and the EGR valve in a V8.
I noticed back in may you posted about some wiring problems with your fusible link and several DTC's regarding the EVAP and EGR. I think you found the connection to those problems at least. However, I see several posts by you since then and nothing refers to a problem until now.

Re: Electrical Problem, please help!
Yeah I just kind of gave up on the problem for awhile. I got a Chilton book for xmas and so I looked at the wiring diagrams. I found out that the ABS IGN, ABS something, and Actuators fuses were all not receiving power when the key is turned to run. This is the only thing I have been able to find out and I barely ever have time to work on my car because I am at college and it is at home. I'm just hoping somehow that the turn signal issue is somehow related.. Anyways, thanks for the reply!
Re: Electrical Problem, please help!
Some more information. This is a text file which I have been keeping to help me find the source of the problem. This is all the information I have collected:
Error Codes:
P0403 (EGR Circuit)
P0400 (EGR Flow)
P0433 (EVAP Purge Control Valve Circuit)
P0441 (EVAP Purge Flow)
Stuff that doesn't work:
ABS
Engine Fans
Blinkers (Hazards do work however)
Reverse lights
Heat/AC/Fan/Defroster
Headlights do not turn on automatically at night, only foglights
Stuff I have tested:
Replaced 3 fusible links
Replaced ABS Relay
Tested all fuses under the hood, 3 of them receive ground and not power (ABS IGN, ABS Valve, Actuators)
The Actuators fuse controls: DRL Module, Headlamp Switch, Cooling Fan Relay, EGR, EVAP.
I forget where I got the information of what the actuators fuse controls, but if it in fact does also control the DRL module and the headlamp switch, maybe this does tie into my blinkers problem? Where did you get the information that it only powers the EVAP purge and EGR valve? Thanks!

So you are also saying that there is no voltage at the fuse holder for those fuses?
