electrical? now wont start

electrical? now wont start

hi guys

i was driving my 94Z my abs light came on lost all power and electrics went off, only for a few seconds, and i smelt burning?,anyway my car drove ok after that,tried to start her up on the way home after being parked up,and nothing! CLICK CLICK and smelt burning again, the batterys fully charged

toeing my car back tommorrow,any ideas what to look for??

Sounds like you have a short you need to find. The ABS and some other lights commonly come on during periods of low voltage.

Check your wires around the headers/maifolds. Hard to see them, but easy for them to burn.

drop your dash panel under steering wheel, take a whiff......if it smells "burnt", turn your key on and reach on top of steering column to where your rod connects to switch, see if the wires feel "warm"....surely they will, and you will have your culprit....ignition switch gone bad.
