differences in 94 and 97?

what is the difference in 94 and 97 lt1's? Is it just the timing and vaccum hoses? I have a 94z but i also have a 97lt1 from a z and wish to have it rebuilt to a 355 forged setup. Is it possible to have it done or are the blocks themselves different? I will have the z taken off the road if need be but I have the other engine so I figure I could ask you all first.

Thanks in advance,
chris

You can use the actual block with no problems.

thank you, first time I have gotten a simple answer and you deserve a cookie.
So all I need to do now is get it torn down and brought to a machine shop for phase 1 then forge all internals use cam(larger), timing, hoses, harness, pcm, (ported stock)heads from 94 and bam engine done. You have made my day

No problem. Yup, sounds like what you are doing is fine.
