Electrical Component connected to drivers side AIR tube HELP!!

In the process of removing my AIR system, I had to remove the bracket that holds on the tube that goes up to the drivers side manifold. Also attached to this bracket is the wire loom for all 4 drivers side spark plug wires and this electrical/vacuum component.

It has two vacuum lines coming off of it and a plug for a two prong connection. I found the connector that goes into it, but i have no idea where these vacuum lines go. Anyone know what this is?? Do I need to put it back on?

On this thing, it says: Delco Remy , CAN , 201 , and 53061.

All help appreciated. Thank you.

Thanks.

After looking at Shoebox's website, I think it might be the EVAP Canister Purge Solenoid Valve. However, it shows it up near his fuel rail (near where the vacuum line comes out for the fuel pressure regulator)....his car is a 95 though, mine is a 96. It looks a lot like it. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

There is a good diagram of the AIR system routing on your emissions sticker(the one stuck to your fan shroud above the radiator). I would tell you what mine shows but I replaced it.

It's an air bleed valve for the AIR pump (to keep moisture out of it). If you are removing the AIR stuff, you don't need it. Just follow the vacuum back to where it comes from the manifold (#1), remove the hose and cap it off on the manifold side.

Maybe it looks like the valve on the bottom right here? I think it is the same thing, just not the recall version. Up close.

Yeah thats it in the close up. So all I need to do is follow the vacuum line that goes to the manifold and then cap it off? Any check engine lights or anything? Where does the other vacuum line go?

If I leave it unplugged, that will leave me two electrical connectors just floating about in the engine bay. One that went to the Air pump and the one that goes here.

Everyone is right about this project, it is a pain in the butt. It sure does give you some extra room ithe engine bay though, and we all know we cant get enough of that with these cars.

Thanks Shoebox!

Let me know if it will throw an SES light. I got pcm4less to give me a obdI conversion and I got AIR and EGR removed, so thats already taken care of.

I think as long as you have a good fuse in the panel for the AIR pump (after it is removed) the PCM will be ok with it.

l guess the other line goes to the pump or a hose. Hard to tell.

OK thanks for everything. Its amazing how you have all those schematics and how you can pinpoint everything like you did. Even close ups, and even a recalled part!! Thanks again.

Where do the vacuum lines go from the air bleed valve for the AIR pump??

it looks like the valve on the bottom right here ? Heres an up close view of it.

While I was taking the AIR tube off the drivers side, this came with it. I think one of the vacuum lines goes to the air pump or one of the air lines or something. My only question is where does the other one go to?? It doesn't really show it in the picture. So if someone who still has AIR on their car could go look and see where the two lines go, that would be GREAT! because I really dont want a vacuum leak.

I would assume that the line went to the intake manifold, but I just can't find a place for it to go. All help appreciated. Thanks!

If you replace this sticker will the mechanic doing a visual inspection of your car figure that the air pump shouldnt be there?
