I just swapped in a newer set of lifters for my car out of an ls1, the ls1 was running great before they were pulled. When i put them into my car and fired it up i got a horrible knock, I adjusted everything accordingly and set the rockers to 3/8 turn preload. Does anybody think that one of the lifters is collapsed? Also to check for a collapsed lifter do i get the lifter onto the base circle of the cam and push on the pushrod to see if it goes down?

Do LS1 and LT1 lifters interchange?
I never heard of that..
I don't know much about LS1 motors tho..

 

it would sound like to me the valves need to be re-adjusted, did you adjusted them once when engine cold/ then when the engines hot

 

Yes the lifters are about the only thing the lt1 and ls1 have in common. I just readjusted everything and after putting the a wrench on the crank to turn it over to get the other valves i noticed at tdc #1 it doesn't want to turn over, and i have to use the started so i think there's something stuck in the motor . Is there anyway to tell if you dropped a valve?
