Not to be critical of this monitoring circuit but it will not give any warning indication if your motor windings open. In addition if you don't happen to notice the LED extinguish your in trouble.

When I moved out to Tucson from Lisbon Falls, ME (Hollo tnthub) a couple of years ago, I can tell you I really had some cooling issues that first summer. I decided to go with the CSI pump because it moved a constant volume of coolant and was not dependent on engine RPM. I installed a BeCool Radiator at the same time.

When I put it in I designed a current monitor for the motor which would alert me instantly when I had a problem with the pump. If current stops flowing through the motor due to a short, open, blown fuse, or whatever an LED extinguishes and an audible alarm sounds.

Its worked well for me for about 9 months without any trouble.

water pump

Mezier high flow waterpump with BeCool Radiator in 69 Camaro with 94 LT1. Even in 90 degree weather this car never gets above 185 degree engine temp.

good luck with your project
