ehhhh car is lacking serious power...last attempt at fixing it.
Ok heres how the story goes car is a 94 z28 with the fallowing mods. bbk shorties, custom y-pipe,magnaflow cat-back,lpe cai, motive 3.73's,trans go shift kit and free mods. So the car idles fine, runs smooth (no misses) or anythign just is in a lack of serious power. When cold the car runs great, has woderful throttle response and has all the power it should. But after about 10 minutes of running it just dosnt have anything (will not even roll the tires over froma dead stop),and has really sloppy throttle response. so far it is throwing codes dtc 32,dtc42, and dtc 97. I have no clue what those are so if someone could chime in and let me know if they could b robbing me of power please let me know. Im goign to barrow a friends lt4 km an see if that helps but please shed somelight somebody before i have to resort to picking on hondas as a pick me up

You need a TUNE...
Contact Ion at madz28.com or you can find him on the board, and tell him the situation and the codes that you are getting, and you will be fine.
Ion knows what he's talking about, and he will set you up for a good price with a fine tune up, that will hopefully help the car.

I know code 32 is EGR...I just had that. I changed the valve....ordered it from gmpartsdirect.com for around $50 shipped. No code anymore!

So a tune will help out that much? another thing is when you floor it from a stop it bogs or hesitates(hard to describe) but then once 2500 comes it is alright. Keep the good replys coming guys.thanks.

I have the same problem. I replaced the fuel filter and it made a noticeable difference. It only took me 15 minutes and cost $9.22 from advanced auto. I alos replaced my transmission mount which was broken, made a little difference with another stock one which was $6.49. Try those and then see. MY car only has 62,000 miles on it and it's an auto but i still noticed a difference.

Um code 42 is Ignition Control Circuit grounded or faulty...... When my car threw this code, i replaced the Ignition Control Module and it all cleared up. You see, i bet money that your problem is directly related to heatsoak... There is a built in heat shield on the module but.... if your engine bay gets too hot it really doesnt do much good... Are your headers coated?? If not then i would definitely point the finger there... And i cant find my sheet of DTC's right now so i cant tell you what code 97 is.... Hope this helps.

Where is this ignition control module at? If it's not too much i might replace mine too. Mine seems a little sluggish too sometimes. Maybe it's just my mind is faster than my car.....

95z28-quicksilver,here is a big thanks to you. I replaced the icm and now the car is fully cured of power loss and low end hesitation, It feels like a whole new car again, even sounds healthy again. Now from a stop when you punch its hard to get any traction in 1st. Thanks again to all of you guys!

No problem man.... When you are like me and have had just about EVERY ignition problem you can have on an LT1... Ya tend to be able to figure out other peoples problems based on your own experiences. I'm glad you got the car back and running again man.
