EGR Vacuum Solenoid Valve
The vacuum solenoid operates the EGR valve. When the PCM wants the EGR valve to open, it pulses the vacuum solenoid, with a pulse rate duty cycle proportional to the amount of EGR flow the PCM wants. The resulting vacuum level opens the EGR valve the amount required.
The code for the vacuum solenoid sets when the PCM detects the incorrect voltage on the electrical circuit. Could be a blown fuse, burned out or shorted solenoid, or a wiring problem. Did you do a scan and get an actual code? If not, do a scan.
Might want to add a "signature" with basic info about your car - year, model, tranny, modifications, etc. Makes is easier for people to answer your questions.
