If i just disconnected my egr from my stock manafolds when i put in long tubes, will it hurt anything to just let it run not connected anymore?

Re: EGR question

I do believe so; you must use a block off kit to cover the tube inlet and the EGR mounting surface. If you do not, the intake will suck air in the intake causing to ingest harmful particles and create a vacuum leak. I do not think you can just unplug it and hope it remains sealed, but I could be wrong. You can get the block off kits on eBay. Good luck, Shimaze

Re: EGR question

i get what you guys are saying but i dint disconnect the intire thing all i did was disconnet the hose on each side where it runs into the header. all it does not is blow air into nothing so if i dont touch the rest of it will it still suck crap in even though its only blowing air out?

Sure you are talking about the AIR pump, and not the EGR system?
Sounds like AIR pump to me.. [2 hoses into headers, 'air blowing', etc]
The EGR doesn't do that..

Re: EGR question

For 94 it doesn't set a DTC, but a 96 I think it does, when you disable the pump.. needs 'programming out' I think? Other than that it shouldn't be a problem.. as it is now the pump is running for nothing..

Re: EGR question

Cap off the connection on your air inlet ducting, where the hose connects that feeds the AIR pump. You don't want to be pulling in dirty air. It takes a 5/8" vacuum cap.

Re: EGR question

also if its not hooked up anymore, might as well rip that crap off for some weight savings/front couple plugs clearance, has a pretty thick alum bracket also if I remember right, that can come off.....everything helps.

Re: EGR question

Do you have pics of how to do that?

Also, is there any place where there is a how to guide with pics on how to delete the AIR? Its pointless on a non-emissions header right?

Also, if you block off the EGR on the back on the intake, but leave the EGR valve, will that be ok?
