EGR Problem

Well my stupid egr tube is still not fitting onto my LT's ive tried and tried and I have managed to totally F up the tube that runs to the back of the intake manifold to the header so my question is can i just block off those two holes and leave the EGR valve intact? or do I have to remove that and also block it off I need to use the car tomrrow, and have two plates but not one for the egr valve.

Thay egr tube sucked. I remember. You can get block off plates, but im pretty sure the egr valve in the back off the manifold has to come off.

I had a similar problem where the EGR tube wouldn't clear the tranny dipstick enough to make the connection. I ended up pulling the header out of the car, heating up the EGR fitting with a portable Sears propane torch and bending the EGR pipe with a piece of metal rod an inch in the direction of the firewall. After that, everything connected without a hitch.

So you broke the fitting off of the header?

You can simply block the hole for the tube on the back of the manifold. You don't need to remove the EGR valve. And of course, put the second plate on the hole in the header.
