egr
egr
ok im jsut about done with the mess i created. iv got the plug sleeves almost here and have to do a few odds and ends like the o2 extensions should be here today. my? is do i need to do the egr block off plate to help with drivability? And is it nessesary to delete the air pump when i do this? im leavin for my trip tomorrow morning. i want to get rid of the air pump but not going to have time to tackle that.

AIR and EGR are two completely separate system. You can delete EGR without deleting AIR, you can delete AIR without deleting EGR, or you can delete both.
You are asking about a blockoff plate for the EGR system. If your headers have a connection on #8 primary, you have to block it off or you will have a huge exhaust leak and screw up your O2 sensors and possible the valves on #8. If you delete the EGR valve, you have to block the opening for the EGR valve, or you will have a huge vacuum leak. Either leak would render the car undrivable.
If your headers do not have the AIR connections, and you do not want to take the time to delete the AIR pump, at least pull the AIR pump air supply hose off the nipple on the air inlet ducting, and block the nipple with a 5/8" vacuum cap. Without capping the system, you run the risk of pulling unfiltered air through th vacuum pump, into the air inlet duct.

And.... this is not "Advanced Tech", so we will move it to "LT1 Based Engine Tech", where it belongs.
PS - Why do you type a line of "-----'s" at the beginning of your post, preventing potential readers from seeing the post in the "preview" mode when they hold the cursor over the topic? I think it reduces the number of people who will read your post.

actually im not sure why those lines are there. hmmmmmmm fixed it. sorry about it in wrong section.
i have off road headers jethot with no egr connection and just o2 sensor hook ups. iv talked to you before about them and i have the block off plates but just not alot of time. i think its only two bolts anyway there on the back of the motor and could do it real quick i guess. now this air system has me a little worried now. you say to plug it up? are you talking about the two hoses that stick up on either side of the air box that had connections that hooked to my emmisions headers from before?

Since you have off-road headers there really isn't any need to plug anything up except for the connection to the airbox or CAI. Take off the airpump and the associated plumbing and you'll be fine....
