The switch that is hooked to the egr using a vacum hose, is it needed if you remove the EGR..

 

Are you referring to the actual EGR valve on the back of the intake manifold? If you remove the EGR, then get EGR blockoff plates and you can remove the valve as well the metal flex tubing. Then just install the plates in their respective places.

 

Yes, I did block it off, but on the right side, facing the motor is a switch at the very back that had a hose from the intake to the switch on one in and a hose going to the egr on the other in

 

It sounds like the EGR solenoid then. You can remove that, you will need to block off the vacuum line to the manifold though.

You will get an SES light/diagnostic code if you unplug the vacuum solenoid.
