97sslt1 auto////well . my bud went with the ebay special and i walked him through the install. he got the opti on without the waterpump and it started right up. so he put the car back together and it ran for 2 min and stalled and would not restart. so he pulled it all back off checked the opti/coil plugs/wires ect. put the opti back on and it started without the waterpump and he shut it down after a few min and put the whole thing back together(2nd time) ..so wouldn't you know it the sucker started right up ran for 12 seconds and died again and will not restart..p.s. the car ran great up to the opti dying and threw the multi misfire opti death code (P0xxxwhateverthecrap) exactly like my 97ss did only i bought the gm unit and mine runs... i am having him spray some starting fluid in tomorrow just to see if something else gave up the ghost while in the garage......What do you guys think BAD OPTI?

BTW- Who has the best price on a GM/Delphi OEM Cap and rotor??? I'm gettin ready to pull mine soon as well. 155k miles on it but it's dyin.

well their are a lot of scammers out their that sell on ebay, craigslist. just get an OEM stock unit from rockauto.com or summit.com or dealer at least they will let you have a 1year or 12000 mile warranty!

There should be a sticky about not buying opti's from ebay...
