Easy questions real quick

What should the average operating temp of a 383 be with a 160 thermostat, electric water pump, and fans set lower? I know it will differ from climate to climate. I just want a general idea.

What should the IAC read when at idle with your foot on the brake?

Re: Easy questions real quick

My 396 runs 180-190 at cruise, at stop and go traffic maybe 190-200. Also compression is a factor in this as well.
I haven't measured my iac but I've drilled an idle air bypass hole in my BBK tb and it's holding 950 idle very well.
See what your current closed throtle tps voltage and adjust the screw to keep it in the appropriate range, drill a small bypass hole in the tb and that should solve your idle issue.

Re: Easy questions real quick

Thanks bro. I was just curious due to the warm climate etc. Im in the 210F range now the weather has warmed up. I bought a fan switch to help out also. Just seems I run a little warmer than most. Today it was in the 222 range.
My closed throttle tps is around .63. I'm not really having any serious issues. I was just wondering what the iac reading should be with my setup according to the scanmaster. Right now it reads 160 at idle.

My 385 runs around 175*-185*...I haven't seen it get any hotter than that, even during summer while idling in traffic. I'm only running 11.2:1 compression though, so that may have something to do with it.
