Easiet way to hook up temp gauge

My stock water temp gauge DOESNT work. I ordered an auto meter temp gauge. Wher do I attach the lead wire?
Can i tap into the stock sensor? or use the one that comes with it?

On the drivers side cylinder head you can see the factory coolant temp sensor towards the front of the head. It goes to the gauge on the cluster. If I was you I'd remove that sensor completely, and I've heard the autometer sender will thread right in. Be sure and put some teflon tape on the threads. This will be ok since the sensor that reads for the PCM will be untouched, it's on the waterpump housing.

On the head, not on the block.

Not on the block, on the head. If you have manifolds it will be harder to see, but it's on the front 1/3 of the cylinder head. Has one wire going to it. You can't miss it. Do this, stand on the drivers side of the car facing the side of the motor. You see the two front bolts that hold your valve covers on? Look midway between the two and straight down, the sensor is right there in the head.
