Well if thats the case, ARP makes a 1/2 head rod bolt that will solve this problem.

I do agree that compstars are of a lower profile and they do require less clearance work. However, Buck for buck, Eagle is cheaper to build, therefore prices can be dropped without sacrificing engine reliability.A Compstar crank and rods can be upgraded for about $600-$700. But like I said, I have never had a problem with Eagle. It takes careful precise cuts with attention to detail. Doing clearancing work with H-Beams and a stroker takes alot more time than I beams and a stroker. Either a 383 or 396.

This is my opinion about these parts. Other may agree or disagree.

Okay, now I'm a little confused here. I-Beam rods require less clearence then H-Beams at the crank end ......... but ...... the opposite is true for clearence of a standard base circle cam, at the cam end, (i.e. H-Beams provide more clearence then I-Beams here)???

This is true. H beams will clear a standard base circle camshaft. The h beams have a more narrow profile around the large end of the rod, allowing more rod to cam clearance.
They are however, "more bulky" and require more block clearance work. This is the best that I can explain it. If you look at a set of I beams and h beams side by side, or build these types of engines you will know what I am talking about.

I beams require rod clearance work to clear a standard base circle cam. If you installed these rods, you either have a small base circle cam or your rods have been clearanced. Eagle does this to their I beams free of charge with their rotating assemblies.
