Eagle 6 inch h-beams and standard ARP 8470 bolts strength?
I am building me a 355 LT1 nitrous engine and was wondering if the Eagle 6 inch h-beams standard ARP 8470 bolts could really handle the rated amount of power which is I think somewheres between 700-800 horsepower without having to upgrade the bolts. I won't be pushing this much nitrous, it will be more likely a 200 shot of nitrous which would put me maybe at 650 to the crank. Thanks for any help.

I've heard from several local dirt-trackers that the factory Eagle 8740 rod bolts are no good. A local engine builder says he's actally broken brand new ones while torquing them down. I switched to ARP 2000's. Keep in mind that the rotating assembly should be balanced with the new rod bolts since some (L19's for sure) have larger heads than 8740.

Wouldn't RPM be more of a concern than power if we're talking rod bolts? I'm building a 355 as well, the cam is a 230/230 .598/.601 on a 111 LSA, heads flowed 243/180 before the valvejob/backcut and I'm planning on nitrous later on(after I pay for the damn motor, lol). It's completely balanced and I'll spin it as high as it makes power N/A. I'm using the 5.7" Eagle H-beams but until now haven't heard of any issues with the rod bolts.
