Eagle 383 balance issues
internal? external?
so i have a question.
-stock lt1 crank is internal or external balance?
i know its a one piece seal crank, and i always thought the 1prms cranks were internal balance. i'd really like to know before i go put my motor together...i was thinking of useing a pioneer replacement damper, are the good units when max rpm close to 7k?
-cool raptor, i built my first motor with out balancing it... i wont do that again. it runs and drive, its fast, but you can tell...certain rpms bring it out and the motor putts but it still runs

A crank in isolation is best not referred to as internal or external balance. It just confuses an already confusing topic. Balance refers to the entire rotating assembly. Stock LT1 rotating assemblies are not internally balanced. They have a neutral balance harmonic damper at the front of the motor and a counterweighted flywheel/flexplate at the rear.
