I would go LTCC, to inscrease bearing life you can take out the inside rotor from the opti since you don't need it with ltcc.

Ok good point. I wasn't sure which components are needed with the LTCC. I stand corrected.

Dynaspark and LTCC would be a waste of money. I'm shuttin up.

Yeah, but at Autozone all you get is a rebuilt cap and rotor kit, you don't get the whole opti. Least not the last time I heard.

I'm personally thinking that if you really want a setup that should last for a while, get a dynaspark AND the LTCC conversion. That way you have the coil over plug upgrade with a supposedly ultra reliable opti doing 1/2 the work of a standard setup.

Costs too much though.
Well, the autozone has a LIFETIME warrenty on it. So if it breaks, you get a new one. Research before replying

I happen to know that it carries a lifetime warranty.

Simply put, who really wants to put trust in a rebuilt opti. Really? Granted it's an easy swap, but would you rather be swapping in and out or buy something that, other than the sporadic anomaly, work good the first time, and for a good duration of time too?

As for doing your research, do a search on here. If I remember right, there was a post about the Autozone opti's and a continual failure, along with Autozone saying only one replacement to more than a couple of people.

thanks for all the replies

i have talked on the board to several customers of dynotech and they have all been extremely happy with the new distributor.

it is somewhat expensive, but they appear to back up what they say after the purchase with a one year and 15,000 mile warranty.

as for autozone parts, who wants this job to do over and over.

using autozone parts is ok for jobs that are not to labor intensive.

with my new coil, plugs and wires already on the car the dynospark alone will do me just fine. car is basically stock with k and n cold air and hooker cat back exhaust.

i am after trouble free driving and overall reliability not maximizing performance i have a corvette for that.

quality products cost money, think about the price difference between snap on tools and the others out there.

when you are the best price has to follow.
