dynotech or delteq

My opti crapped out cause the water pump leaked on it (great design by gm), so i'm gonna rebuild the whole thing. I got a 355 with the le2 heads and i was wondering which to go with, the dynotech dynaspark distributor or the delteq direct system? Which one will perform better to 6500 rpms and will last? With the dynaspark i can use msd without worrying. Which one is better for the prices being about equal?

Re: dynotech or delteq

Depends what your priorities are.

Dynaspark does not need much altered to install it -- probably the easiest install.

LTCC has 8 coils, it's not a "waste spark", a rev limiter, and NOS retard, but some fabrication to install.

Delteq has 4 coils in a "waste-spark" fashion and easier to install than the LTCC. Plus, the control unit is hermetically sealed -- no water intrusion. But, no rev limit or retard.
I have heard of cases where the LTCC control box died because of moisture condensing in it -- but, for most, probably not a big problem.

I believe all three have good customer service.

I have nothing but good things to say about Delteq, simple install, clean looking setup and it performs great. You can't really do wrong with any of the choices though, they are all wonderful products.

Re: dynotech or delteq

is there anyway to hookup a msd unit to delteq or LTCC to give me the rev limited and retard capabilities?

LTCC has retard and two step rev limiter built in, on the delteq you would need the MSD DIS set-up(DIS-4 IIRC?)

Got a Delteq in my car and haven't had any problems with it. Easy install and very nice looking.

Can't you put a rev limiter by reflashing? or does it just ignore that?

you can, but if your running nitrous or FI, you don't want to use the PCM rev limiter, it cuts fuel, not spark

Ohhh I see... so just get the MSD system once you boost/spray your engine? Would you be fine on the PCM limiter as long as you're NA?

Yep - you'll be fine without it.
