dynoed my cars today!

I dynoed both my cars, my 94Z28, and my 02 WRX at the local dyno. They both did great. My camaro put down 278.1RWHP, but what is amazing is that all three pulls were almost identical. they differed no more than .4HP. my WRX put down a healty 251.9WHP, making a tad bit more flywheel HP than the camaro, but it has more mods.

The dyno used is a Dyno Dynamics at dynocomp in scottsdale. They had a dyno day today and there were some good #put down. Of course I was the only camaro, but the 2 highest cars were a SC mustang 401RWHP, and a Dodge Stealth TSi at 466AWHP.
I will have the graphs on my site tomorow. www.cahoons.com

the camaro has 113k on it and all the mods are listed

the other car is a Subaru WRX. its not an STI, but those are not bad for a 2.0L with about 30% Driveline loss due to AWD and about 8% at the dyno itself. 347 estimated FWHP. Those # were run at 13psi of boost. with some c16, i cant go up to about 20psi. that would be fun.

Wow, sorry for sounding like I don't know anything about fwd, heh nevermind, I don't , but is there is a difference in rwhp and fwhp? As far as track times and such, I would imagine so since a fwhp is pulling the car and a rw is pushing. Thanks.

fwhp = fly wheel hp or front wheel hp depending on the situation. In this case it is fly wheel hp. His WRX is a all wheel drive car. So the power is distributed to all 4 wheels instead of a front wheel drive or rear wheel drive car. Where it is only 2 wheels and sometimes only 1 wheel. As for track times, the power you put down to the wheels is what counts. You either got all wheel drive cars, front wheel drive cars, or rear wheel drive cars. I hope that explains it better to you.

nice pulls on both cars man.. what's done to the WRX? by the way wouldn't the steal be an R/T TT? unless it's a Talon TSi but then it wouldn't be a stealth(I like all cars, imports are just what I have been around lately)

fwhp, flywheel horsepower(could be front wheel hp, but he doesn't have a fwd)
rwhp, rear wheel horsepower

the stealth is a R/T TSi, or something like that. everyone kept calling it that. BTW, it ran 11.52 sec the day before. sorry aboutthe confusion when i said FWHP, i was talking flywheel hp.

the subaru has VF22 turbo, biggest Subaru makes, fuel system upgrage, Front mount intercooler, and somre really precise tuning. it spent 6 hours on the dyno getting tuned.

considering you have a 6 speed car, with headers and all the other mods you've got, your Z's numbers dont seem all that high You have similar headers (as far as design) to me, I have AS&Ms, otherwise I have similar bolt ons as you, no throttle body or a few other small things, and I put down 291rwhp/329rwtq. Several folks have gone over 300rwhp in 6 speed cars with no tuning, roller rockers, but basically with just with long tubes/full exhaust and CAI.

Nice numbers on the werx

Remember that every car is different.

dont forget, every dyno is different also. Dynocomp's DynoDynamics dyno is known for low #'s, but is the most acurate. if you look on their web page he explains why. Dynocomp they find that other dynos like mustang and dynojet tend to give higher #'s, as much as 30hp. im not trying to say that to make my hp look better, but giving an explination. My buddy who was there put down 246.2RWHP on his 87 saleen with a 9lb supercharger. on another dyno at a local mustang shop he put down 271rwhp. everything depends on so many different things. what put a smile on everyone's face was that nice torque curve. something you do not see on an import.
BTW, my subaru will beat my camaro by a couple of car lengths.
