Sean, You gonna be ready?

 

We found the problem early last week after pulling the intake. The oil pump drive gear practicly disintegrated. Most of the gear was about half the thickness it should have been and then one side was wiped completely clean.

There are no viable upgrades for this part, so I just ordered a new one from J. Cromer. We are going to change the spring in the oil pump (lower the pressure) to put a bit less stress on the gear. I don't want this to be a reoccuring problem but I'm stuck with stock parts.

The car would have been ready this week, but I ordered a Canton oil pan from Speed Inc and they couldn't figure out how to order the right part. They ordered the old pan and told me it would be just fine...So now I am waiting on the correct pan to get here.

So to answer your questions, yes I plan to be there. The pan and gear should be here tomorrow or so. Once they get here, I'll put the motor back in this weekend and get some miles on it next week. So as of right now, I'll be there. I talked with Jeff and I can send you the deposit or bring it with me, which ever you prefer? I need to figure out the race gas situation too.

But sign me up for Sat. at 12 and I will be there.
