hey, just got my dyno results back. it made 470rwhp and 495ft-tq w/the new396. i would like to know what kind of numbers you think it will run w/th400 4,000 stall 9" 3.89 and a weight of 3,187 w/me in it.


96 T/A bogart 15-3 1/2 MT Fronts and 15-10 MT 28-10.5

Before this thread gets hyjacked I just wanted to add that you have had great
numbers with both the 227 and the 846, and I have followed your transition from
the 227 to the 846 and comments you have made along the way. Since I have
the 227 and will rarely see the track, I was wondering what your thoughts are
again in hindsight now that you have the dyno tune.

Honestly, when I first put in the 846 I missed the 227. And it didn't perform any better at the track, so that just made it so much worse. But with the dyno tune, I gained alot of the lowend back that I lost from the switch. But if I could do it over again, knowing what I know now, I would have just kept the 227, put in new springs, done the duals, and depending on the gains I see with the throttle body and intake manifold, do that or not, and the dyno tune. I like the lope with the 846 though, the 227 barley had any. Both cams drive fine on the street though, just like stock except a tiney bit of cam surge with the 846.
