Dyno and Track Results 230/236

We did a dyno tune on the car and after that we went to the track.
Today's weather was not the best with a DA of about 2300ft.
Car pulled 371hp on the dyno.
The best that the car did at the track 11.70@114.88.

I'm pretty excited about it, each run the car got a little quicker.
I will post the video of the dyno run and the 11.70 run later on tonight.

I think also the gearing might be holding me back now, I'm really thinking of changing the 3.42 to 3.73's just have to play with it and see what it needs.

Do you think it would be a wise choice to run a cam like this without ported heads? Also I too had my car on the dyno today numbers in the sig. It is still running a little rich after some tuning but nothing I cant live with. Dyno numbers in the sig. I was hoping adding a cam like this would knock off a .2 in the 1/4 mile and might add 25 RWHP to my car...

Whats needed in a cam swap? I was looking at the XE 230/236 cam, some type of new lifters, a Cloyes Double Roller Timing Chain. I have the Meziere W.P. now. Would I have to swap to a 95 Timing cover? What gaskets will be needed? And what am I missing? What lifters?

I hate you, your fast *** car, and your free cam that I should have won.

J/K man. Sounds awesome. I'm sure you'll make it even faster too. What was your best with the mini-cam before? I forgot.

Sweet! What was the RWTQ? So do you like the combo heads? Would you recommend them?

Me and my freind did all that on my car a few weeks ago. My setup is on stock heads with that cam and she pulls pretty good. We'll let the dyno tell that story soon.

I'm taking that Ed did the dyno tune again? If so how much did he charge you to re dyno? I need to get mine tuned again. I got my program from him when he had never programed for this cam before. Maybe I need to give him a call.

Ken,

I know you had some good times with your hot cam. I'm sorry I don't recall the times, but how do these heads/cam compare?

Nice Times. What was your 60' time. Also does it feel like it pulles harder then your High 11 second run with the Hot Cam on stock heads? I have a set of GTP's sitting in the garage that I am hoping will put me in the 11.7 range with the Hot Cam.

Anyway congrats. I think we will see you flirt'n with the 11.5's soon. Also I only got sound on your video's you posted.

Mr. T's Z - 12.3 to 12.5 on the air to fuel ratio.

Ucrazymonkey - Lot of question there, I would think that you would need the heads for this cam to get the full potential out of it. For a cam swap just need basically a opti, wp, intake, timing cover gasket and all the seals in the timing cover. Right now I'm using stock lifters. Not to sure on the 97's and the timing chain due to the Crank sensor.

kevkop94TA - Sorry man

allmotorta - Torque is hard to read on the dyno but we did pull it up and due to the TQ multiplication factor. Anyway some of the numbers that the dyno was seeing was in the 460's range.

Beast96Z- Give him a call. Cost wise, well.. humm he is a sponsor for my car.

merim 123 - Heads are doing good, just need more running time and logging time to see what the car want's.

Smokn '94Z - 60' times was in the 1.6's 1.67-1.62. The car does pull more at the top end. Might need a newer Media player to get them to work.

Remember, It took a while to get the HotCam that I use to have to get it where it was. Might take me sometime to get things sorted out on this one as well.

Right now I'm pretty sure a gear change is in order. Might have to go to 3.73's to get it in the RPM band quicker. Not to sure on the coverter yet, but chances are might have to go up on it as well. Just need to do some fine tuning on it, but for starters this is not bad at all.
