My best 60ft was last weekend, when I somehow hit 1.58. (I've since been unable to do any better than 1.60)
She lauches hard and gets both wheels up. (I'll be adding more pics to my cardomain page shortly)

Not bad at all for a stock weight car with a 275lbs driver.
Should easily pull 11.7s at 115 with a 160lbs guy in the seat ... too bad 230-235 is about as low as I can go with this frame.
I'm gonna have to borrow Skinnies or Tiago as stunt drivers LOL

We tried a few different settings for WOT TCC lockup and ended up disabling it all together.

I've also installed an oil catch can and a 23% UD pully (my stock crank pully was damaged during an opti replacement)
We fixed an exhaust leak in one of my header primaries and modified the Y pipe so it would stop banging my crossmember as well.

That's about it for the season here in KC though.
I'll be back in March for the LTx shootout and the next MOFBODY shootout.
We'll see what fun projects winter brings. (Likely a replacement for the stock 10bolt and a new forged bottom end)

I still DD the car and it runs and handles great.
She'll be parked when it snows though. We get some nasty ice storms in KC
and I really prefer my Firehawks unwrecked LOL
makes me wanna pick up a new convertor

I picked up more from suspension than from the TCC IMHO.
I was running 12.3s on the 4000 stall with my old shocks.
With the QA1s and a little TnT work, I shaved 3 tenths.
Then another 2 with nice weather.

nice improvements - keep up the tuning and keep shaving time off.

That is terrific that you hit the 11's. We have near identical engines except that I have the M6 and some more weight from the convertible. I new I was destined for 12's but maybe now even 11's.

I still have not got the dyno tune yet, its been one thing or another all summer. I found out my clutch was slipping so I had to put the tune off again till the clutch was replaced. I got a Spec 3 and right now I am waiting till it is broke in before I tune or hammer on it.

I am also making plans to get a 9" rear end ASAP, I can already tell from the added HP and this new clutch that the 10 bolt's *** is skating on thin ice.

Did you manage to get all of you KR in check, or did you turn the KS off?

Congrats on the performance improvements, James.

I especially like your documentation of everything on your CarDomain pages.

Ed tuned the PCM to ignore false knock bursts. That worked very well for me.

My 95 went though similar challenges, so I've been down this road before.
Naively believing that everything just magically works the first time for some people.
It just doesn't work that way .. at least not for most of us amateurs anyhow.

I hope people find it useful.

what made you disable the lockup alltogether? your leaving about .15 ET and 2-3 mph on the table dude. I run similar times with a similar car (weight wise) and tested with and w/o the lockup switch. and thats what I got a couple times. its very consistent IF I shift it right(I have an oldschool 700r4 in mine, so its manual shifting for me). I could have done alot better if I had 3:73's still, and if I had some QA1's but this cars comeing apart, so didnt want to put anymore money into it. broke my 3:73's last year, now its got 3:42's.

if your car will still hook, setting 8 should net better 60's and maybe higher launch's. but, that may be too stiff to hold traction. I got stock shocks all around, but I got air bag's in the back. I usually run with about 5-19 lbs air, I tried tgoin to 20lbs and it was the difference between perfect traction and 1.60 60' and spinning badly to a 1.77 60'

Just curious. Nearly all custom tunes have the burst knock turned off, it is super sensitive and difficult to coexist with.

Do wou still have some measure of knock detection turned on, maybe there is a retard degree limit? I am running into several guys who are forced to turn the entire knock system completely off.

I had several chips to play with with TCC lockup set at 70, 90 and turned off.
When it was set to 90, the car bogged down as the TCC locked up and anything
gained by having it locked up was lost.
When disabled, I picked up about 1.4mph and .042 sec VS enabled.

I don't manually shift (I also have a non-e A4).
I set the governor to 6375rpm and let it do it's job

I may be numbering my clicks backwards.
I had the rears set to the 4th firmest setting.
I tried 3 a few times and ended up with worse 60ft.
I also tried playing with tire pressure to compensate, but it slowed me down.
I'll play with it some more next year.

To be honest, I don't remember a whole lot about it.
We logged knock bursts before which was pulling timing, once that was
suppressed, I no longer had issues and moved on. As far as I can tell my
my more recent data logs, I am not seeing any significant knock counts or
timing retard at WOT.

Nice result. I have been trying to tell people that most (nearly all) cars run better in the 1/4 w/o locking up the TC.
